December 2025 New Grant Amounts

- Foster Child Grant: Just above R1,200, with a slight increase applied for December.
- Care Dependency Grant: Around R2,310, reflecting the newest adjustment.
- SRD R350 Grant: Remains unchanged at R370 following the 2024 increase.
The new amounts have been largely applauded, particularly as families are getting ready for the huge expenses at year’s end, buying new school uniforms and facing higher food prices.
Official SASSA Payment Dates For December 2025
SASSA has also published the entire December payment calendar in advance so that beneficiaries can plan their payments and keep away from delays. The calendar is as follows:
- Older Persons Grants: the first week of December 2025.
- Disability Grants: the following working day after Older Persons.
- Children’s Grants: the next working day after Disability Grants.
- SRD R370 Payments: monthly payments as per status verification throughout the month
Beneficiaries are encouraged to confirm their precise payment dates through the SASSA status check portal in order not to be confused, particularly in the busy holiday season when the lines tend to get longer.
