- That the account is not frozen and is operative
- That the mobile wallet users have their linked numbers current
SASSA will prevent new account holders from accessing their money until the entire verification process is completed, which could take up to 7 days.
Who is Eligible for the December R370 Payment?
In order for a person to be eligible for the R370 Social Relief of Distress Grant, he/she must meet the following requirements:
- Unemployed
- Not receiving any other support
- Monthly income below R624
- Citizen, permanent resident, asylum seeker, or holder of a special permit in South Africa
- Age 18 to 59 years
- Passing the monthly SASSA income and identity checks every month
This assessment is carried out every month, meaning that approval for November does not guarantee automatic approval for December.
