NSFAS December 2025 Allowance : The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially announced the allowance of R5,200 for December 2025 for its students, which will make the holiday season a little less stressful for them. The announcement is made at a very important time for the thousands of students who depend on the NSFAS to pay for their living costs during the time when the campuses are closed for the year.
R5,200 December Allowance Officially Approved
Despite the fact that the academic year is ending earlier than before at many higher education institutions, NSFAS has committed to paying the full December 2025 allowance to the students. The R5,200 amount consists of the regular monthly living allowance and the annual top-up which is given at the end of the year.

NSFAS made it clear that the December payment is a part of the usual annual support package, hence students need not to apply again or send any special documents.
On the other hand, students who lost their financial aid due to unsuccessful evaluations, academic appeals or non-submission of documents are urged to clear their situation as soon as possible so that no delays will be caused.
Steps To Take In Order To Receive The NSFAS December Allowance
The scholars must make sure that their bank accounts approved by NSFAS are active, correctly registered and linked to their ID number. According to NSFAS, a lot of payment delays are caused by discrepancies in personal details or inactive accounts.
